Obituary for Quincy Coble

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana)--issue of Thursday, October 6, 1898—page 1, column 5:

Instantly Killed

The lifeless body of Quincy Coble, son of Elihu Coble, of Stilesville, was found near the Monon tracks south of Greencastle Sunday morning. He was riding on a freight train and where the National road crosses the Monon there is a low bridge. He struck this bridge and was thrown off. His body was not found until morning. He was on his way to see a young lady at Quincy and had missed the passenger train and consequently was on the freight. He was about twenty-six years of age and was well known in southwestern Hendricks. His death is the twentieth that has occurred at this point from the same cause.
